With the objective of educating students on the necessity of strengthening the bond between nature and humans, the volunteers of Kochi Karunya Sangha Vedi planted saplings in public spaces and schools. They also visited schools to emphasize the importance of nature conservation and distributed grow bags to the children. At the Environment Day celebration held at St. Louis L.P.S., Mundamveli, the school Headmistress, Smt. Latha V. X., welcomed everyone in attendance, and Smt. Jini, a teacher at the school, administered the Environment Day pledge to the students.
The event was officially inaugurated by the Division Councilor, Smt. Lissy Sumi. Following the inauguration, several dignitaries spoke to the children about the relevance of Environment Day, including Karunya Sangha Vedi President Shri. P. T. Boniface, General Secretary Shri. P. G. Lawrence, Environment Wing Convener Shri. P. K. Suresh, Convener Smt. Joyce Antony, School PTA President Smt. Antonia Neethu Antony, and Agro Needs representatives Dr. Abhijith and Shri. K. T. Augustine. Various cultural programs by the students, highlighting the message of Environment Day, were also showcased during the event. Representing the Environment Wing of Karunya Sangha Vedhi, the overall activities were organized and led by Chandini Ronald, Jiji Jacob Mariamma, T. J. Jane, Sherly Peter, Antony Palluruthy, and Ivy Antony.
