Karunya Sangha Vedi officials prepared an unexpected movie party for the Ammas (old women), who were away from their homes in the midst of their lives and stayed inside the Karunya Bhavan run by the nuns of Palluruthi. On the occasion of Onam, the Ammas expressed a desire to watch a movie to the workers of the palliative unit of the Karunya Sangha Vedi, who came to take measurements to sew new clothes for these mothers. Fulfilling their wish, Karunya Sangh Vedi officials organized an evening trip for them along with a movie party and tea party.

President Sri. P. K. Natesan said that it was a remedy to get back the happiness that they thought they had lost in their lives. General Secretary P. G. Lawrence recalled the emotions of a mother who entered the theater for the first time in her life as unforgettable.
