Karunya Sangha Vedi (KSV Charity) Kochi, celebrated the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who fought for human goodness and India's freedom by standing firm on truth and non-violence. The members paid tribute to Gandhiji by placing flowers on his portrait. KSV President Sri P K Natesan presided over the meeting. In his keynote speech, he said that in this era when foreigners are trying to discover and study the Indian culture, our new generation should not follow the western culture and try to live by Gandhian philosophies. Lions Club, Kochi President Dr. Preeti, who was the chief guest, said that the new generation wants more freedom, smart phones are their mainstay but they need to seek real knowledge from the internet as well as learn to distinguish good from bad things. Sri. John Champakat, Retired Superintendent of Central Excise, conducted the prize distribution ceremony of the various competitions held on the occasion of the Onam celebrations.
