All individuals celebrate their birthdays and wedding anniversaries with their family members. While such occasions are usually shared as private joys, Mr. P.G. Lawrence chose a different path. As an expression of gratitude for the divine blessings he received over 36 years of married life, he visited the institution Good Hope in Kochi, accompanied by his wife Rani, family members, and friends, along with the members of the Karunya Sangha Vedi. There, he shared his joy and thankfulness with the 34 elderly brothers and sisters residing at the facility.
At 11 AM, in the Good Hope hall, everyone gathered with Sister Cecilia, who oversees the care home, to cut the cake and share sweet moments together. As part of making the day joyful for each elderly person who often lives in solitude, a special musical program was also arranged. Led by Mr. V. Udayan, Mr. N.G. Ramesh Kumar, Mrs. Jini Udayan, Mr. Murukan Ramesh, Mr. Antony Palluruthy, and Mrs. Shalini Kunjumon, singers performed timeless nostalgic melodies that awakened cherished memories in everyone's hearts.
A heartfelt moment came when Mrs. Rani Lawrence recited the touching poem "Amma" (Mother), written by Mr. P.G. Lawrence, which deeply moved everyone and brought a wave of emotion over the gathering. Mr. V. Udayan, in his message of wishes, specially mentioned how the poem's lines stirred something deep in the hearts of those present.
Dr. Thomas Maliackel and Mr. John Chembakkatt were the chief guests at the event. The event also saw speeches from Karunya Sangha Vedi President Mr. P.T. Boniface, Vice Presidents Mr. P.K. Nadesan and Mrs. T.P. Sophia, and Secretaries Dr. Sujith, Mrs. A.S. Ambili, Mr. Ramesh Kumar, and Mr. George Thaikkoottathil. The celebrations continued after a sumptuous traditional feast (Sadya), followed by more musical performances.
