Under the leadership of Karunya Sangha Vedi, the Kochi Harbor Walkway was cleaned. Plastic waste that had been scattered along the Harbor Walkway under the jurisdiction of the Cochin Port and visited by hundreds of people every day was collected in several sacks.
At the inaugural function presided over by Karunya Sangha Vedi Vice President Mrs. T. P. Sophia, the opening ceremony was performed by Mr. K. Dileesh, Inspector of the Kochi Harbor Police Station. In his inaugural address, the Harbor Station Inspector said that if we all work with the awareness that environmental cleanliness is the duty of every citizen, it is possible to transform our country into a much cleaner and more beautiful place.
Karunya Sangha Vedi General Secretary Mr. P. G. Lawrence, Environment Convenor Mr. P. K. Suresh, Mrs. Jane T. J., Mrs. Joyce Antony, and Mrs. Chandini Ronald spoke at the event. Mrs. Sherly Peter, Mrs. Misorism, Mrs. Enz Wide Finten, along with Harbor Avenue Walkers Crew representatives Mrs. Beena Antony, Mr. Subin, Mr. Udayan Palluruthy, and Mr. Johnson Lewis, led the cleaning activities.
