As part of the World Nurses Day celebrations, nurses and palliative care workers who have been rendering selfless service in the healthcare sector were honored by the Karunya Sangha Vedi, Kochi at the Saudi Arogya Matha Church Hall. Councilor Joseph Fernandes inaugurated the program. Arogya Matha Church Vicar Fr. Tobias Thekkepalakkal delivered the keynote address. Karunya Sangha Vedi President Mr. P. T. Boniface presided over the function.

Medical assistance and food kits for selected individuals were distributed by Dr. Thomas Maliakkal, recipient of the Star of Italy award. Government Hospital Karuvellipady Head Nurse Mrs. Seji Saji, Palliative Convenor Mrs. Joyce Antony, retired Nursing Superintendent Mrs. Shirley Peter, retired Head Nurse Mrs. Helen Joy, and palliative care workers Mrs. Misori Sam and Mrs. Seena Jolly were honored at the event.

Vice President Mr. P. K. Natesan, General Secretary Mr. P. G. Lawrence, Secretary Mrs. A. S. Ambili, Treasurer Mr. Sebastian Bernard, Mrs. P. M. Safiya, Mrs. Chandini Ronald, Mrs. Shalini Kunjumon, and Mr. Antony Palluruthy led the proceedings.
