As part of World Senior Citizens' Day, Karunya Sangha Vedi, Kochi honored its senior members aged over 70. Karunya Sangha Vedi President Mr. P.G. Lawrence presided over the function. Councillor Mr. K.J. Basil inaugurated the event. Speaking at the occasion, he said that senior citizens over the age of 70 are living in isolation in many homes across our society, and every social organization should step forward to support and care for them. Dr. Thomas Maliyekkal was the chief guest. Mr. John Champakkattu delivered the Senior Citizens' Day message. He reminded the audience that living up to the age of 90 is not what truly matters, but rather doing good to everyone while living in society.
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony to share sweets. Senior members above 70 years of age - Dr. Thomas Maliyekkal, Mr. John Champakkattu, Mr. P.K. Natesan, Mrs. Shirley Peter, and Mr. Antony Palluruthy—were honored during the program. Vice President Mrs. T.J. Jain, General Secretary Mrs. A.S. Ambili, Treasurer Mr. Sebastian Bernard, Mr. P.K. Natesan, Mr. John Champakkattu, and Mr. Antony Palluruthy addressed the gathering.
