Under the leadership of the Kochi Karunya Sangha Vedi, study materials and food kits weighing 42 kilograms, sufficient to meet the needs of a family for one month, were distributed to 35 selected students from schools in the coastal areas of Cheriyakadavu and Manassery, which were severely affected by sea surges. The program was held at the Manassery Church Parish Hall and was inaugurated by J. Sanal Mon, Chairman of the Kochi Municipal Corporation Town Planning Committee. He remarked that KSV Charity’s humanitarian efforts to stand with and support the marginalized during times of crisis are truly commendable, providing much-needed aid and services. Karunya Sangha Vedi President Mr. P. T. Boniface presided over the function.
Retired Major R. Rajesh, who delivered the keynote address, stated that the work of Karunya Sangha Vedi is exemplary, and the organization operates in a well-coordinated and disciplined manner. Fr. Shabu Dennis, vicar of St. Michael's Church, Manassery, delivered a blessing speech. He stated that only those with compassion can engage in humanitarian service, and that the assistance and support provided to communities affected by natural disasters are of great significance. Speakers at the event included Division Councillor Mr. A. P. Antony, Karunya Sangha Vedi General Secretary Mr. P. G. Lawrence, Vice President Mrs. T. P. Sophia, and Program Coordinator Mr. P. P. Jacob. Other participants and speakers included former president Mr. P. K. Nadeshan, Mrs. Joyce Antony, Mr. P. D. Suresh, Mr. James Panakkathara, Mrs. Missouri Sam, Mr. Zakir, Mr. T. J. Jain, Mr. Antony Palluruthy, Mrs. Chandini Ronald, and Mrs. Gigi Jacob.
